I was on my way back from the airport with my friends who is an antique lover. She was asking me if I knew any places or shops where selling old stuffs from french left over in Cambodia or something else that she could bring back home. And she mentioned that she would love to see anything with older age. Good to be with a few thousand years stuff if any.

As our conversation was going on, I remember she told me one of her friend back in the state got a vase from china with reasonable price old easy fragile stuff where need to stand still at one place only and hard to get it move often afraid of broken.

From my personal experience about antique shop in Phnom Penh, I told her there are some handicraft made selling at Toul Tumpoung market (foreigner known as Russian market), arts shop near Royal Palace area, and a few other boutique shops in town.

So the next day, I got a list for her and we went there to check together and found few interesting old items.

Khmer Antiques

From the list of shops where checked, there were plenty of khmer antique and those items are old and new kind of mixing but if you really love such items then there you go choosing one of the many khmer antiques.

After going to a few shops, my friend finally found one of her favorite old knife. I forgot to mentioned she is an antique knife collector. She can show you a list of what she has been keeping and collect for about 20 years until today...KNIFES!

Next time, I will bring my camera with me so I can take some of good photo of the antique items to show off. I should have brought my capture tool haha. Anyway, promise next time. If you really think antique items is yours then visiting Cambodia or looking at one of these shop some time in the future for they are still there for many more years I guess.

French Antiques

As I mentioned above that my friend was looking for something left over from French and I knew some of the building structure and old stuffs from french still exist but I was not quite sure of what is antique from French anyway.

During our time checking around, my friend told me a few thing and history of few antiques but I totally just had no idea about it. However, there are french antique exist in Cambodia though. Anyway, Please share with me some items or anything so I can learn about the french antique. I will be so happy if you can share!

Chinese Antiques

From what I knew China has a very old rich culture with so many thing old existed until today such as vases made of mud and those are very good one that last for thousand of years. There are good one and fragile one and the price is vary depend on each items.

Vase is one of the item that I knew about Chinese antiques. What else is antique from China? Is folk and spoon also antiques to count on as well?
