Cambodia ISP 3G Internet Modem

A month ago I just bought a 3G internet modem from Metfone mobile operator company from one of their representative office in Toulkork. It is was just close to the place where I live so I walked to get this modem.

My previous internet connection was with another mobile phone company which I found a little slow even though it didn't cost much money. I spent around $10 for buying scratch card everyone and most of the time I had to wait for the service leading which mean the internet was so slow...

Yay, now I found a better one with using Metfone internet. Before I decided to buy the modem from them I checked from other people who had experiences with their services and the price of the modem. I got a good feedback even though sometime with some technical errors they mentioned.

However at the moment, I don't have any problem with them so far just a bit slow sometime at the weekend and I guess many people use the services that's why causing slow speed.

I thought I would have bought the cheaper one which costs $35 but I got the one which is higher with $40 plus 500Mb free internet for one month. The two type of modems actually included with 500Mb free internet but the different is the speed of the modem itself.

I got mind at 7.5G and the other one which were out of stock was only 3.5G in speed. So I am happy to spend a little more ($5) on the 3G modem that I am using at the moment.

I have no problem to use the internet from their company to write my articles on hubpages to make some money to cover the modem cost. Actually, the earning was ready covered the cost of buying but I need to write more to cover the internet usage expenses for each month haha.

I use scratch card (pre-paid card) to refill the credit for using internet with them. From the modem I can only use internet and with the option to call the operator only even though this modem has the simcard inside but I cannot call other phone numbers.

I use the light package which cost $3 per 800Mb and when I reached the bandwidth allow I have to add more credits to buy some more usage. The second package costs $12 per 4Gb but I haven't tried this one yet so far as I the light package is enough and if I need more than 800Mb then just top up another $3.

How to Refill Credit to Buy Internet Usage

Refilling the credit is not hard just get the prepaid scratch card from the phone shop or from any other location in Phnom Penh or other provinces in Cambodia and follow the step as seen in the picture below.

Using 3G internet modem is easy as I can bring it along with me to anywhere I am traveling in town, outside of town or at the province as long as I stay under the coverage area. It's cool and fun to plug it and use from my laptop.
