67There was a short brief about the Hollywood movie production in Cambodia "The Great Khmer Empire" in its 3 years project was on debate around August-September 2010. I am hopping to see this movie at the cinema as soon as they complete.
For there are many famous stars Hollywood stars performing in this movie such as John Cena and Angelina Jolie.

It was mentioned in the local printed media saying that this movie project will cost US$70 million movie in Cambodia one of the highest breaking record for movie in the kingdom.

I was trying to find the source but haven't found anything about this cover design yet. I don't mean to copy the work to put it here just post it and if you happen to know the source of this picture design.
It looks like real but i'm not quite sure if this is real one of just designing for fun because it is going to take 3 years to complete this movie production. But it said at the bottom of the design by Visothkakvai.
People wish to watch it soon, but we don't know how soon is this going to happen. Any ideas?
Back to the early day when people discuss about this I found this youtube video as you can see from below the discussion was only from one person talking but generating lots more interesting ideas in that video alone.

There were 3 stages of the creation of the Great Khmer Empire, Anachak Phnom, Chenla and Angkor era. Later on the 3 kingdom became one and King Jayavarman II was a great emperor and military leader.

John Cena, Angelina Jolie, Jet Lee, Song Hye Kyo.....is he crazy?....He should stop now before he ruins the face of the Khmer people. Angelina did a lot to help get Cambodia on the map with Hollywood but it doesn't make her Khmer. Jet Lee and Song Hye Kyo at least their Asian, but John Cena. First of all he's a terrible actor and wrestler and he doesn't look remotely Khmer. They might as well get M. Night Shyamalan to produce this horrible movie concept. If I was them, I would make this movie kind of like Apocalypto. All khmer actors and actresses and sub them, which is way better and cheaper since they wouldn't ask for anything remotely close to a famous Hollywood actor. They can use the rest of the money for CG, costumes, etc...
I like the movie concept but i wish he would at least have one Khmer people in there as the main stars. Yes Cambodian actors and actress cannot speak perfect English but for sure they can practice and study just like Jetli did in the Hollywood movies too. I do love Angelina Jolie for than anything to be in the movie because she is such a great actress in my opinion and she has helped Cambodian people alot so having us making the movie there is such an honored for us.

I don't want to disappoint everyone, but this movie isn't happening. It's not even a real movie. Please do some research on this director and you'll realize that he hasn't done a movie of this scale. Who would invest $70 million and have a relatively unknown director directing it. I'm like everyone else and would like to see this movie made, but the truth is that it isn't, not by this director and not at this time.

John Cena??? I agree with the vlogger at the top that the producers and directors of this movie should get a lead Khmer actor to play the role of Jayavaraman VII instead of John Cena. I understand that they may have an incentive to attract the target audience of this movie, but I feel that this is an insult. There are good Khmer actors, and they should find one to play the king instead.
What? You want Khmer actor to be a lead actor? Are you insane? Don't you want Cambodia to be known to the world? If Khmer actor is a lead actor, do you think anyone will watch it? Do you they will be famous? Our Khmer's films are not famous to abroad yet, but Chinese's films are famous to the world that's why Jet Li makes his way in Hollywood. So if Khmer actors can be parts of their film, they may can be like Jet Li in the future.
